Took out "three main groups"
[edit]I removed the heading for the list of three branches of the intercostal arteries, because these three branches really don't tell the whole story. The intercostal arteries also include the 7th, 8th, and 9th intercostal space, to which the current list could care less about, it seems. The internal mammary artery supplies those intercostal spaces, by way of the musculophrenic artery. And what about the subcostal arteries? They may not be official intercostal spaces, but they anastomose with the intercostals, so they are worth mentioning, at least. Rhetth 02:35, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Proposed merge
[edit]It is nonsensical to discuss the intercostal arteries in four separate articles. These could be easily merged, which would significantly benefit readers by having all the information, and comparison, and history, clinical significance, function and comparative anatomy located in a single article. Centralising this information may also help to improve its quality and increase the number of future edits, which may otherwise be dispersed among the four child articles. --LT910001 (talk) 09:20, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
